Description | Centralia Sentinel, May 24, 1866, announces that an intersquad game of the Egyptian Base Ball Club will be held tomorrow. Signed F. F. Hawley, Secy. Same, Aug. 16, 1866, announces the "First nine" of the EBCC. "The first full game of none innings will be played on Friday, 3 p.m., by the Club, at the Park." Same, Nov. 15, 1866: "Odin, Nov. 14, 1866... The Egyptians of Centralia and the Odin Club have just finished the match game of ball. The game stands, Centralia 100, Odin 12." Peter Morris et al., editors, "Base Ball Pioneers. 1850-1870" p. 214 says a Chicago team beat the Centralia Egyptians in 1867. |
