Description	The Rockford Weekly Register-Gazette, May 14, 1870: "Galena has organized a 'Dirty Stockings' base ball club." The Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Aug. 12, 1945, citing a 1908 book on Galena baseball, says the Dirty Stockings, formed in 1870, soon changed their name to the Crescents (which see). They changed their name to the Crescent a week later.
