Description | Egan, "Base Ball on the Western Reserve," p. 16, says that the Croghan and Eureka clubs were formed in Fremont in 1867. The Fremont Weekly Journal, Aug. 30, 1867 says the Croghan recently defeated the Eurekas 115-38. Croghan was the name of a War of 1812 hero. |
