Description | The Central Illinois Wochenblatt, a German language newspaper printed in Ottawa, July 3, 1868, p. 3: headlined "Peru", reports that last Monday the Peru and Arlington Base Ball Clubs played in Peru, with Peru winning by 8 runs. The utmost friendship and good times marked Arlington's visit. The original is in German. "Magnificent Whistle Stop" (a history of Mendota), p 244 says that in August, 1869 the Arlington club beat Mendota 64-55. |
