Morris et al., Base Ball Pioneers, p. 320, says that in 1866 the Independents, Liberty, Occidental, Eclipse and Broderick clubs existed in San Francisco.

The Broderick Club may have been named for US Senator David Broderick.

The Daily Alta California, Oct. 6, 1866 reports on a meeting of the Broderick BBC. Same July 2, 1867 has the Brodericks losing to the Atlantic 44-17. [ba]
