Description	Josiah Quincy was sent off to Phillips Academy in about 1778 at age six. It was a tough place. "The discipline of the Academy was severe, and to a child, as I was, disheartening. . . [p24/25]. I cannot imagine a more discouraging course of education that that to which I was subjected. The truth was, I was an incorrigible lover of sports of every kind. My heart was in ball and marbles." Biographer Edmund Quincy sets this passage in direct quotes, but does not provide a source.
