Description | Woodstock Sentinel, Aug. 28, 1884 reports that Richmond beat Antioch at Antioch 27-11. Chicago Inter Ocean, Aug. 2, 1896: "Petite Lake... Antioch, Ill., Aug. 1--The Queen of the West Baseball Club went to Antioch Thursday night and got it in the neck--score, 6 to 3." Queen of the West was a dance hall on Petite Lake, a resort near Fox Lake. Presumably they played an Antioch team. Antioch was incorporated in 1892. It had 134 residents in 1880. |
