Description | The Cleveland Daily Herald, March 30, 1858: "A grand tournament in the grand old American game of base-ball is in progress on 'The Hights' [sic]." Play to last through the evening. Same, May 4, 1858 reports an 'epidemic" of baseball playing in Cleveland. Same, March 6, 1860 reports that baseball is being played daily at the "Spring Pond Park." Spring Pond Park was a horse race track about half a mile north of the Spring Pond Hotel, located at the modern northwest corner of Euclid and East 89th Streets. |
