Description

"A match game at Base Ball, was played on Saturday last, at Norfolk, Va., between the Creighton and Stonewall clubs. The former club is named after the lamented James Creighton, of the Excelsior club, whose honored memory is thus perpetuated in a fitting manner. Among the players in each of these clubs, are several New York and Brooklyn young men, who have settled in the South. We are glad to report the popularity which our National game is attaining in the South. The result of the game was a decided victory for the Creighton's be a score of 64 to 19. Umpire, Mr. Simmons, of the Creighton's. Scorers, Messrs. Pollard and Kenney."
