Description | The Rockford Weekly Register Gazette, Oct. 13, 1866 reports on a recent base ball tournament in Pecatonica, giving box scores. The clubs participating were Farmers and Bummers of Winnebago, the Eureka and Clippers of Lysander, the Prairie Boys and Plow Boys of Seward, and the Club of Pecatonica. Winnebago was founded (as Elida) in 1849. It's population was 276 in 1860, 1428 in 1870. |
