Description | The New York Clipper, Sept. 28, 1867 reports that on Sept. 14 at Fort Harker, KS, the Bradley BBC of Fort Harker (made up of clerks in the QM Department) defeated the Smoky Hill BBC of Ellsworth City 60-22. Smoky Hill is the local river. It is unclear whether the Smoky Hill club was made up of civilains living in and around (Fort) Ellsworth, or the soldiers stationed there. |
