Location Nashville, TN, United States
Description

Field used by the Nashville Base Ball Club in 1868. Described as being "close to Fort Houston" and "across Broad Street," it was probably between what is now Broadway and West End. During the Civil War the grounds would likely have been bounded by Cumberland Hospital (on Harding Pike) to some extent.

Sources

Republican Banner [Nashville, Tenn] 13 Sep 1868: 4.

Comment

This field was probably also used for the public execution of the Heffernan (or Hefferman) killers in January, 1866.
