The Charleston Daily News, Sept. 21, 1868, gives the box score of a game between the Carolina and Germania BBCs, played "at the west end of Broad Street". The Carolina won, 26-9.

 The Germania was compose of German-Americans living in Charleston. It was formed July 10, 1868 with Gebhard Biecke, president, and J. L. Bukkes, VP. See Charleston Courier, July 14, 1868.
