| Description | The Butte Miner, Oct. 30, 1877, announces under the heading "The Base Ball Party" that the Silver City Base Ball Club of Butte will be giving a ball next Friday. Same, Oct. 23, 1877 reports on a game between the Athletics and Lone Star, presumably of Butte. Helena Independent, Sept. 24, 1878: "Base Ball. On Wednesday of this week [i.e., 9-25] a match game of base ball will be played between the Silver City Club of Butte and the Three Cs of Helena at the Fair grounds." |
