Same April 6, 1877 reports that on April 5 the "home club" under Captain Simms (B. B. Simms, clerk of the Texas Pacific Railroad) lost to the Gate City BBC of Texarkana 41-20. Same, April 30, 1877 reports that Fort Worth defeated Dallas 17-12. Same June 15, 1877 reports Fort Worth 14, Dallas Stars 7, with the "Panther Boys" (Fort Worth) claiming the state championship. |
