Description | The Chicago Tribune, June 27, 1875: "Kenosha... The match game of base ball between the printers of Waukegan [IL] and Kenosha came off Saturday, the 19th, at Waukegan." Waukegan won 61-23. Same, Aug. 22, 1875, says "The base ball fever still rages" in Kenosha. There was recently a game between the painters and the employees of Bain's wagon works. Kenosha (originally Southport) was first settled in 1836. |
