Description | The Galveston Daily News, Feb. 23, 1879, reports (in mock horror) that “only a few days ago, in broad daylight, … a game of base ball was played in Laredo. It is even reported that some of the U.S. Soldiers are implicated.” Laredo TX is abot 150 miles SW of San Antonio on the Mexican border. |
