Description | The Chicago Tribune, July 27, 1867, has an extensive article on the State base ball convention. Among the teams sending delegates were the Aurora and Black Hawk BBCs of Aurora. The Black Hawk delegates were O. C. Lathrop and A. W. Stolp. The latter is Allen W. Stolp (1841-94), of the prominent Stolp family of Aurora, who was later manager of the Stolp Woolen Mills. The former is Orvis C. Lathrop (1840-84), a lawyer. This club played the Kendall of Yorkville on the 31st of August. Kendall County Record, Aug. 29, 1867. And probably played Elgin that month. Kendall County Record, Sept. 5, 1867. This team had disappeared by 1870. See Aurora Beacon, July 27, 1870. |

Win/Loss Records As Far As We Now Know
Warning: Users should not rely on a team's won-loss record as a reflection of its "standing" among all base ball clubs. Team schedules were not balanced, and a good record against mostly weak opponents does not signify a leading club.
