Description | The Chicago Inter Ocean, July 8, 1891, reports that the Orchards defeated the Elk Groves at Hall's Park, Orchard Place, IL. EGs included F. H. Reinke and G. Jaernecke. Orchards included C. Wertz and Burt Hall. Elk Grove Township existed at this time, though the town of Elk Grove (in what is now the Chicago suburbs) wasn't incorporated until the 1950s. Orchard Place was a small railroad stop where the modern O'Hare Airport sits. It was known as Farwell until 1886. |
