Description | The Chicago Tribune, Nov. 26, 1870, reports that the Field & Leiter Wholesale nine played the "Volwarts" (? newspaper illegible here) club. Marshall Field and Levi Leither were partners in what was to become Chicago's biggest department store, Marshall Field's. I've entered this as "Leiter & Field" because the system got confused by the word "Field" and tied to put this under the category ball field. |
