The White Cloud "Kansas Chief" Aug. 5, 1869: "Base Ball Match--The second match game of base ball between the Occidentals of Falls City [NE], and the Pioneers of White Cloud [KS], came off at this place, on Saturday afternoon..." The Pioneers won in extra innings by 27.

White Cloud KS (current pop. about 175) is in the NE corner of the state and about 45 miles NW of St. Joseph MO. It is about 20 miles E of Falls City NE.
