Description | The (Brownville, Nemaha County) Nebraska Advertiser, June 30, 1870: "Prof. Moore brought with him, from Chicago, uniforms for the Nemaha BBC of this place." Same, July 28, 1870, reports that the Banner BBC of St. Deroin beat the Nemaha BBC 107-78 "last Thursday" (the 21st). Brownville NE (current pop. about 130) is on the Missouri River about 70 miles S of Omaha. Its population had been about ten times higher in 1870, and was then the highest in Nebraska Territory, but the railways diminished the importance of river traffic. |
