The 1879 History of Kenosha, p. 545, states that the "Kenosha Base Ball Club has been in existence since the summer of 1874." Edward Capron Thiers (1856-1945) was catcher/manager, and his brother Louis Milton Thiers (1858-1950) was a fielder.

E. C. Thiers later became president of the local school board.
