Description | The Rolla Weekly Herald, Aug. 19, 1875, reports that the "Wind Splitters" base ball club was organized last Monday night. Composed of married men only. It appears there was a Young American club in this city also. The Rolla Weekly Herald, Aug. 26, 1875, says: "The champion base ball match between the picked nine of the Wind Splitters and the Young Americans, will be played next Saturday on the grounds near the School of Mines building." |
