Description	The Indianapolis Journal, May 12, 1865: "The 4th practice game of Base Ball by the Western Club, played on their grounds, Blackford Street, north of Vermont, yesterday afternoon, resulted as follows:" A box score is given, with Logden's side defeating Revier's side 29-27. A "large number of spectators" attended. The Indianapolis Indiana Sentinel, Nov. 7, 1865, labels this the "Great Western" BBC. The Elkhart Weekly Review, April 28, 1866, reports: "The Western Base Ball Club of Indianapolis challenges any Club in this State belonging to the association of base ball players to play three games.... for the championship of the State of Indiana." One of several teams the future star Cal McVey played for before turning professional with Cincinnati in 1869. The Indianapolis Daily Herald, Jan. 23, 1866 reports on the election of officers of the Western BBC. Same, June 19, 1866 reports on an intersquad game of the Western BBC. Same Oct. 1, 1866 has the Western playing the Indianapolis Club.
