Description	The Bloomington Indiana Student, May 17, 1867, under the headline "Base-ball" has an article on how the Indiana University students have formed a base ball club and are practicing in the city. The club is set to issue a challenge to Harvard, Yale, and some local non-college teams. This 1867 beginning team is mentioned in several newspapers 1916-1917. Cf. the Rushville Daily Republican, Nov. 2, 1917. Future doctor A. W. Maxwell pitched for the team. It doesn't sound as if the college is sponsoring the team.
