Description | The Thomasville Times, Aug. 8, 22, 1874 reports that the Wide Awakes of Valdosta defeated the Socials of Quitman 19-6 in a 3 inning game. The Valdostans had to leave in the middle of the 4th inning to catch a train. There was also a Young America Club of Quitman in 1874. See Gallaher's Independent, Oct. 3, 1874. |
