Description | The Burlington Daily Hawk Eye, Oct. 7, 1869: "Ottumwa has two base ball clubs, one called the 'Old Pie' and the other 'Old Persimmons'." Same, Aug. 23, 1867, reports that General George A. Stone of Ottumwa was elected president of the newly formed Iowa State Base Ball Association. He may have been a member of the two teams above, or of the earlier Ottumwa club. |
