Description	From Protoball Entry #1860c.11 – Man Played Base Ball in CT Before the War "I am a native of Hartford, Conn., and have, from early boyhood, taken a great interest in all Out Door Sports that are clean and manly. As a boy I played One, Two, Three, and Four Old Cat; also the old game of "Wicket." I remember that before the Civil War, I don't remember how long, we played base ball at my old home, Manchester, Harford County, CT." Letter from Philip W. Hudson, Houston Texas, to the Mills Commission, July 23, 1905. Note: From context, one might infer that Hudson was playing the New York game, not the Massachusetts game, before the Civil War.
