Description | Liepa, "Baseball Mania Strikes Iowa," Iowa Heritage (2006) says that in 1866 a Fort Dodge team played Boonsboro, at Boonsboro, for the championship of northwest Iowa. This could be the Wahkosa team of Fort Dodge, which joined the National Association in 1866. The Waterloo Courier, July 5, 1866 reports that a Fort Dodge team challenged the Empire of Waterloo. |
