Crown Point Register, July 15, 1869: "About Base Ball." Tells of the practice of the new club. Crown Point Register, Sept. 23, 1869: "The Crown Point Base Ball Club have challenged the Valparaiso club to a return match game." The Chicago Tribune, Oct. 27, 1869, reports that the Farwell nine of Chicago beat Crown Point last Monday 35-34 at Crown Point. Crown Point was incorporated in 1868.
