Colin D. Hall, "Northern Sandlots: A Social History of Maritime Baseball", p. 34: "It was the Park Cricket Club, in fact, that organized the first baseball club in Charlottetown in 1889. Three other teams organized the same year, the Tennis Club, the Diamond and Baseball Club, and the Stars... In 1896 the first provincial championship match was organized, with Charlottetown prevailing over the Pisquid Club in the deciding game."
