Description

The Wilmington Post, May 4, 1868, reports on a base ball game at Camp Lamb between the two nine of the George Z. French Base Ball Club. The 1st nine won, 42-29, and received a silver cup as a prize.

This was a "colored" club, according to the Wilmington Morning Star, Sept. 1, 1870.

George Z. French was a local Republican politician.
