Description

The Honolulu Polynesian, July 3, 1847 reports on a "match of cricket" between the crew of the HBMS Modeste and Honolulu cricketers on "Thursday last."

Same May 12, 1860 reports on a cricket game played the day before in the rear of the royal palace, with Prince Kamehameha (the king's brother) playing.
