Description | Newspaper reports seem to place the "old racket ground" near Claiborne Circle / St. Bernard Ave. Circle, which appears to be near Hunter's Field. The Alexandria (VA) Gazette Aug. 28, 1858 says the racket ground is at the common, back of Claiborne Circle, in site of the Ponchartrain railroad. |
