The Oct. 18 report specified that the recipient club was the Gorham, ME, Base Ball Club, and that the challenge was received on Oct. 16. This newspaper report lacks detail. It may be an erroneous report--or perhaps Hamburg South Carolina (not Germany) is meant? |
