Description

The Yankton Press & Dakotan, Aug. 16, 1871 says the Reserve BBC of Sioux Falls, Dakota Territory, beat the Vermillion Red Caps on Aug. 9, 37 to 36.

Terry Bohn reports that the game was played at Sioux Falls, but the Reserves were from Minnehaha [presumably Minnehaha County, where Sioux Falls is located].

Sioux Falls SD (1880 pop about 2,100) is about 80 mile N of Sioux City IA.
