Description | The Lebanon Weekly Patriot, July 24, 1867, mentions "a few members of the Base Ball Club" broke some windows while practicing, and were fined $2. Same, July 31, 1867: "Base Ball--A Base Ball Club was organized in this place last week." with R. W. Matthews, President and John H. Hendricks, Vice President. Same Aug. 7, 1867: "Base Ball" mentions that the Thorntown club played in Lebanon [presumably against this new Lebanon team] "a few days ago." Same, Aug. 18, 1870: "The Merchants and Mechanics Base Ball Club meets at Hayward's office tonight." |
