Description | The Montpelier Green Mountain Freeman, April 24, 1867, reports that the Montpelier BBC was formed last Friday, with Alonzo T. Keith elected president. Club has already practiced at "the fair grounds." First club in Montpelier. The "fair grounds" may be where the 1853 state fair was held, on Seminary Hill east of town. This is the site of the modern Vermont College, on Ridge Street. Address 36 College Street. The Vermont Watchman, Aug. 11, 1875, reports a game played on "Seminary Hill." |
