Description | The Petersburg Index, April 4, 1867 says a baseball club has been organized at Goldsboro. Goldsboro NC (current pop. about 37,500) is about 50 miles SE of Raleigh NC. A match was played in Goldsboro April 5, 1865 between two team of Union army soldiers, both representing the 102nd NY Inf. See the New York Clipper, April 29, 1865. |
