Description

The newsletter of the Near East Relief, an American protestant charity, sponsored orphanages for Near Eastern refugees, and in many cases sponsored baseball clubs among the orphans.

1922's newsletters mention the base ball team of Ismid (now Izmit), Turkey and the "Lebanon Blues and Reds Club" of the Zahleh, Lebanon orphanage.

1921's newsletter mentions a baseball club at Adana, a girls base ball club in Tarsus, and a May 7th game mixed gender in Constantinople between YMCA and NER workers.
