Description | The Chicago Tribune, May 14, 1870 reports that the Active Jrs. of Chicago, champion junior club of the Northwest, defeated the Saxons of Goshen, champion Junior Club of Indiana, 47-15 at Goshen. The Goshen Times, June 23, 1870: "Base Ball--The Saxons of the city played a match game of base ball with the Elkhart Juniors on Friday last." The Saxons won 45-22. Goshen is ten miles south of Elkhart. |
