Description	The St. George's Union Cricket Club of Detroit was formed in September 1856. See Detroit Free Press, Sept. 6, 1856. A Detroit CC mentioned in Porter's Spirit of the Times, Aug. 29, 1857 Woodford, "All Our Yesterdays: A Brief History of Detroit," p. 240 says that in 1858 the Peninsular Cricket Club was organized. Their field was later used for baseball.
