The New York Herald, June 13, 1868 reported that the young men of Pensacola had formed the Seminole Base Ball Club.

Scott Brown's "Baseball in Pensacola," p. 16 quotes the Pensacola Tri-Weekly Observer July 4, 1868 as saying the Seminole and Bay City clubs are to play a game on Seville Square in that city.
