The Sunbury American, May 5, 1866: "We have, at present, two base ball clubs in this place, the Star and the Susquehanna."

Same, April 14, 1866: "A Base Ball Club in Sunbury" announces a bbc has been formed and intends to play its first game Friday the 30th "on the grounds near the Augusta Hotel."

Sunbury PA (1860 pop. about 1,800; 1870 pop. about 3,100) is about 125 miles NW of Philadelphia in north central PA.
