Text | 1863 DIARY OF EDWIN ELLIOT RICHARDSON, CO. A, 46TH MASSACHUSETTS New Bern Saturday, Feb. 21st 1863. We drill all day long. Had a dress parade at night. There was a matched game of Ball played between our regiment and the 25th [Mass.] I did not learn which regiment played the best. Monday, March 23rd 1863. A nice fair day. I played a game of Ball. Friday, 27th 1863. Had a company drill. In [p.m.] played New York game. It is hard work to play that game. Had dress parade. Saturday, 28th 1863. Played the New York game all day. There was not ay drill for a wonder. No dress parade. |
