Description | The Notre Dame Scholastic (a student newspaper) has numerous mentions of this BBC, the first being Sept. 14, 1867, saying the BBC was reorganized Sept. 8, with J. M. Flanagan, president, and J. C. Skelly, captain 1st nine. Brother Florentius was Director. The "Twenty-Eighth Annual Catalogue, 1871/72" of the University of Notre Dame, pp. 58-60 lists the various baseball clubs sponsored by the college. including the "Star of the West" (juniors, the college champions), the Star of the East, Excelsior, Young America, Pickwick and Juanita. |
