Description

Linton Wells' autobiography, "Blood on the Moon," p. 203: "The American navy introduced baseball to Chittagong, as it had to Akyab, but British and natives alike [refused to take an interest)."

He's writing about a flight he covered in 1924 which stopped at the two cities. It is unclear whether the baseball mentioned was in 1924, or earlier.

Chittagong is now Chattogram, in Bangladesh. Akyab in now Sittwe, in Burma (Myanmar).
