Regarding the latter, I’m wondering if we could make a book (or Web site) out of this, i.e., collect together all known Greater NYC area game accounts (in 1856 and earlier years) prior to the implementation of the 9-inning rule and suitably annotate them, plus add biographical accounts where feasible and identify the locations of the playing fields. I think it could be a very useful reference volume containing material that’s often hard to obtain but important for understanding the evolution of the New York game.

Check Illinois Tags for Missouri entries

For some reason a mix of Illinois and Missouri entries both received an IllinoisMissouri tag, which was changed to Illinois during import.
