Block Data:	<p>"Baseball" was mentioned in a newspaper article eulogizing a recently deceased vicar of a church in the town of Gillingham, Dorset. The article praised the vicar for putting an end to desecrations of the Sabbath permitted by his predecessor: "Frequently, old people tell us on Sunday afternoons men would come down from other places and play baseball with men of this parish against the church tower. Happily, such scenes as that have passed away."</p>
